Team,
A few things from today’s practice:
For those who took the AMC 8, the AMC 8 test and answers are attached.
There are complete solutions, including multiple videos for each question available at:
https://artofproblemsolving.com/wiki/index.php?title=2026_AMC_8
The problems and questions we went over today are attached. (Thank you to Thomas for catching my mistake in the solution to problem 21. I have corrected it.) I apologize for any frustration when I was explaining Target Round question 4. It’s a complicated question, and I didn’t do a great job making it simple. I’m trying different ways of giving you the opportunity to learn how to solve difficult problems. If there’s a way or method that would allow you to better receive and retain the information, please let me know. The only way to grow is to work through problems that are slightly out of our reach. I’m happy to make a youtube video on any problem we’ve had, if that would help you.
The calculator programs I loaded on calculators today are at:

Note: LOW.8xp is a program required for Mathprgms.8xp to work correctly. LOW.8xp is not executable on its own.
Bonus work:
You have 2 options for bonus work:
1) Complete the questions we worked on during practice. While these are difficult questions, I have also provided all the solutions. If you hand copy the solution (not just the answer), I will accept that as credit. For those competing at MathCounts, you would benefit from working on these before the competition. They are real competition problems that were just out of our reach.
2) Workout 8. The problems and solutions are attached.
I’m excited about MathCounts on Saturday. I hope you are, too.
Take care,
Coach Ben
