Team,
Good work today. I have 3 things to share:
1) At the Dayton Chapter MathCounts competition, Lucien, Erica, Agam, and Jonathan were our Team B. Unfortunately, MathCounts only scores the team round for each school’s Team A. The Oakwood B earned a team score of 97. Based on the information provided by MathCounts, I can calculate possible scores for the other teams. At the Chapter competition, the 4th place team earned at most 87 points, and the 3rd place team earned 100 points. Our Oakwood B team would have at least tied for 4th and possibly been 3rd. That is incredible. The Oakwood B team round score of 10 points would have tied for the 3rd best team round score.
2) If you have a topic or activity you’d like to do in one of the practices we have left, please email me. I’m not sure which week, but we will do combinations/permutations/ice cream one week. Other than that, if I don’t get any suggestions, I’ll keep picking topics, but I’d prefer to do what is of specific interest to you.
3) I have attached the SAT questions and solutions that we went over today. The attachments are an entire practice SAT test, not just the questions we did today.
