Team,

Great work on the Target Round today. There were some pretty challenging questions. Congratulations to Xutao for getting 6 correct and to Adrian, Adam, and Lucien for getting 5 correct. Special shoutout to Mingsu and Xutao for being the only ones to get question #8 correct. I’m proud of the effort everyone put in. The problems and answers are attached.

The individual MathCounts score is the Sprint Round plus twice the Target Round. The first 4 spots (Team A) for Chapter MathCounts are determined by the individual MathCounts Score. The next 4 spots are also determined by individual MathCounts Score. Ties were broken using MOEMS scores. The final 6 competition spots are determined by bonus points. This year we are also able to bring alternates who will get to participate in the competition.

I am very excited about bringing this team to the Dayton Chapter MathCounts on February 7. I think Team A has an opportunity to earn a state team qualifying spot, and I think some individuals on Team B and Team C are in a good position to earn individual state qualifying spots.

Here are the results determining the OJH MathCounts Team:

MathCounts Total Sprint Target Bonus work Tie Breaker – MOEMS

We have room for 1 more alternate, if any of the team members who originally said they did not want to attend become available.

Good work,

Coach Ben
